Sel Korah's thoughts about Rotary

MEMBERSHIP is all about providing service and enjoying fellowship.

Fireside Dinners is an event where members gather in each others homes. "It is through these gatherings that I have heard Denny & Andrea Christman's dog 'sing', listen to Niels vigorous 'toast' for Aquavit, learn about Bob Cairns world travels, Jacqui Curtis' life in Alaska, Claudia Nysoe's various foibles..." read more about Fireside Dinners from Dave Hedger

"Rotary is a fountain of inspiration that invigorates me endlessly. Someone or something always "happens" to me when I walk into our weekly meetings at Tweten’s. There is something quite intoxicating being in the midst of people who want to serve others without asking for anything in return. In these friends, in their eyes and hearts I see and feel the greatness of our country and the affirmation that Rotary will continue to champion the great values that has made our country great; Human Kindness, Justice, Empowerment and Dignity. Rotary allows us to reach the deeper part within us, that most powerful place where we feel whole as human beings." - Sel Korah

"There are many opportunities and activities to choose from and while you are encouraged to become active and to participate, it is not high pressure. The members are great fun and have fun. Becoming a member of Port Orchard Rotary
Our club is one in an association of nearly 32,000 autonomous clubs in 166 countries. Rotary International is one of the world's largest service organizations. The goal for our club's membership is an up-to-date and progressive representation of Port Orchard's (and surrounding area) business, vocational, and professional interests.

An important distinction between Port Orchard Rotary and other organizations is that membership is by invitation. We invite individuals to join and become members.

A primary goal of our club is to continually expand the club with committed members who have the interest and ability to get involved in service and humanitarian projects. Prospective members must:

  • hold — or be retired from — a professional, proprietary, executive, or managerial position;
  • have the capacity to meet the club's weekly attendance or community project participation requirements;
  • live or work within the locality of the club or the surrounding area.

Visit us at one or our weekly meetings, we'll be glad to introduce you to members who'll inform you more about our club and answer questions you might have...

say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
